NEW! 5 Tournament Spring/Summer Package!
Power To Play Sports Officials Association
As of August 2011, Power To Play Sports has created an officials advisory board. This board is established to help hire, educate, and evaluate officials and assist in continually improving the accountability and education of officials. Ultimately, officials are the single most important aspect of our events.
Assignment of games are done with certified officials only, and used on the reftown.com website. All officials must have updated profile and verification of CHSAA certification.
Payment: $25.00 per official for tournament games. $20.00 per official for league games. Non-certified officials are paid $18.00 per game, regardless of league or tournament assignment.
Officials that confirm their assignments by Tuesday, 5:00 pm are issued a check to their address on reftown on Wednesday. They should receive on Saturday that week, and in most cases, before they work their assignments for that weekend. We are the only organization that pays our officials BEFORE they show up for their
assignments.
At times, we will also write checks to be handed in-person on the day of the assignment.
All varsity divisions are assigned 3-person crews for all league, and tournament games.
Official Guidelines:
1. Attend one of the three available meetings (mandatory) during the year.
2. All officials working Power To Play Sports events must be certified. Non-certified officials will be used as secondary, and on an as-need basis.
3. All non-certified officials will be paid $18.00 per game until certification is obtained and verification provided.
4. Officials must show up on time for any assignments. Any official that does not show up at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their first game will automatically be bumped down to the $18.00 per game for all league and tournaments for a period of 3 months (no exception). Continual violation of this policy results in our no longer using the official for assignments.
5. All officials must be in proper black and white gear for all games.
6. All officials must fully understand the governing rules of Power To Play Sports games.
7. All officials must fully understand the spectator code of conduct and procedure way in which it is implemented in our events. This is to protect our officials and extremely important in providing a safe environment for all participants.
8. All officials must fully understand the bench decorum rule mandated by the State High School league which is enforced in all Power To Play Sports events.
